We Didn’t Start the Fire

No we didn’t light it, but we tried to fight it. Rumor has it that someone didn’t wait for their charcoal to cool down before bagging it for sale at the roadside. The result was that a fair amount of acreage burned nearby yesterday, including the fields that surround the mission on all sides. Thankfully, we had recently completed a firebreak, so we were unaffected, except for the smoke and the voluminous amounts of burnt grass that blew through our screens and covered every surface in our houses.
