I should have waited before publishing my last post! The very next Sunday we had the pleasure of hearing a message from one of the younger men being discipled by the mission, Louse John Bosco. The topic of his sermon was living a holy life, specifically fleeing sexual sin. It was such an encouragement to hear him exhort from the pulpit for everyone to flee sexual immorality, to live lives set apart from the culture and honoring to God. This emphasis on purity is very counter cultural. I enjoyed a particular turn of phrase he had – there is no appreciation for a prostitute. Only wives get appreciation for their work. You will never thank a prostitute for her work. Too true!
There are five of these young men particularly involved in the ministry work presently: Louse, Anyela Paul, Loduk John, Lokiru Timothy and Locap Emmanuel. They have been conducting the worship services, translating sermons, exhorting at another location on Sunday mornings, leading a youth conference and encouraging the flock. We are so thankful for their work and growing maturity. Please pray with us that they will be able to live the holy lives they teach about, stay steadfast in temptation, and humble in leadership. We give praise for the evidence of the Spirit already moving in their hearts.
