Sync My Life’s Beat

by Chloe

Let the morning bring me word of your everlasting love
Let the midday sun sing the sweetness of your shade
Let the evening endue me with confidence that you know my beginning and my end
Let the night distill my world to your still small voice
Let each day’s turning sync my life’s beat to yours
Forever and ever

Let the rainy season make me careful what I pray
Let the dry season mortify my craving for corporeal comfort
Let the cold draw me toward your warmth
Let the heat stoke urgency for those aimed at eternal fire
Let the rhythm of time sync my life’s beat to yours
Forever and ever

Let weakness highlight your strength
Let failure strip me of self-worship
Let joy and grief balance with hope and contrition
Let success fill me with the fear of the Lord
Let the seasons of my soul sync my life’s beat to yours
Forever and ever Amen

This poem/prayer reminds me to slow down and listen for the Spirit’s guiding and rejoice in the life God has given me. Thank you.

This poem a prayer gave my heart direction to our Lord who knows my needs and worries before I realize and complain. My senses awakened anew to reality that He more than understands, He has a better purpose and plan for this day and I can rejoice in it and with Him in it. Thank you for helping me pray.
