Like IKEA furniture, websites, blogs, and all manner of social media ventures, just never seem to last as long as you’d like. Move them just once from the bedroom to the den and those infuriating wooden pegs start breaking and the whole thing begins to collapse.
To make matters worse, whatever is popular in web design tends to get revised as often as the Givenchy collection (really? we’re tucking in sweaters?), so we’re constantly looking out-of-date over at Verdickmoja, and what’s the point of being a missionary if you can’t look good while doing it?
So, after much hand-wringing and off-putting, we’ve updated the look of the blog for Spring 2019, and we invite you to revel in the momentary with-it-ness of the whole thing, such as it is. The goal is to communicate the Verdick ethos through the design—old-fashioned, out of touch, and trying way too hard to keep up with the times. In that spirit, the new design should look better on smart-phones, tablets, giant billboard-sized televisions, or wherever you decide to read. Just be aware that if you go poking around in the blog’s back rooms, the doors still start to squeak before falling off completely. If you’re prepared for that, then notre maison su casa, as they say in Irun.
