Visitor season is in full swing! Last week, Christopher and Pastor Dave Okken picked up a group of new visitors including a team organized by the Presbytery of Southern California. Our present visitors are involved in many aspects of the work. Volunteers are working at the clinic learning how to identify the signs of malaria and give injections. Others are working with Bob Wright on vehicle and living compound maintenance. The team that just arrived will be visiting three local schools to teach them about Christ as our Prophet, Priest and King. They will also be hosting a pastors’ conference in Namalu using the First Catechisms that Christopher printed earlier this year.
Christopher and I are in charge of making sure the visitors have beds to sleep in, food to eat and clean laundry, the truly scintillating aspects of ministry.
We are very excited to see how God will work in and through these volunteers! Please pray for them that they will stay healthy, will see how God is moving in Karamoja, and draw nearer to him in the midst of a very busy trip. Please pray for us that we would effectively communicate about the joys and difficulties of working in Karamoja, that we would have grace and patience while living in close proximity with an additional thirteen people, and that we would draw nearer to God in the midst of a very busy few weeks. May the Spirit move in live-changing ways! May God be glorified!
“scintillating aspects of ministry”….necessary aspects of ministry for which we are so thankful! 🙂
